A Personal Update & Prayer Request
Dear family and friends,
I want to share a personal health update and humbly ask for your continued prayers for healing and peace as I stay committed to God’s mission of serving others.
Since 2022, I’ve been blessed to lead the Community Services Center here in Bishop. Over the past four years, we’ve: 🍽️ Served 2,500+ meals
👕 Grown our clothing closet into a full thrift shop
🛁 Provided showers and laundry for those in need
🔥 Helped families through emergencies
❄️☀️ Offered our space as a warming and cooling center
In August 2024, I was diagnosed with leukemia. I chose a clinical trial using oral chemo over traditional treatments so I could remain active in the work. Since then, I’ve also been diagnosed with diabetes and, more recently, shingles.
Due to the contagious nature of shingles, I’ve made the difficult decision to pause our soup kitchen temporarily. Ramen noodles are still available in the cafeteria. The thrift shop will reopen this Friday, though we’re holding off on selling Philadelphia Water Ice for now. Bible Study resumes Saturday and Grief Group on Sunday.
This mission was sparked by the vision of my wife, Cynthia, and I’m grateful for every step we’ve taken together with your support. Please keep me in your prayers, as I continue to pray for each of you.
With love and faith,
Wayne A. Grant Sr.
